Amanda Christiansen, MS, RDN, LD
Hello! My name is Amanda Christiansen and I am a nutrition professional here at JTA Wellness. Fun fact, I interned here during my rotations and fell in love with this area of nutrition along with the incredible experiences I had here! I received both my Bachelor of Science in Food & Nutrition and my Master of Science in Human Nutrition at Texas State University. My interest in nutrition started at a young age when my younger sister got diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Being exposed to this at such a young age made me have a deeper appreciation for nutrition, which stuck with me throughout my life. Going through this journey with her for many years has emphasized how much nutrition plays a role in our health in a vast number of ways and how tailored it can be for every individual.
I was able to experience nutrition through many different lenses during my dietetic internship, including working with The New Braunfels Food Bank, Esperanza Eating Disorders Center, Resolute Baptist Hospital, and JTA Wellness. Being able to rotate through many areas of the nutrition field helped me gain an understanding of just how much it can make an impact on overall health, well-being, and quality of life in several different instances. As I grow in my career, I want to continue to expand my knowledge and skills in diverse areas of nutrition. My goal is to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives by promoting a client centered approach and providing personalized nutrition guidance. I am excited to see where this journey takes me and how I can contribute to the field of dietetics in innovative and impactful ways.
In my free time, I’m a passionate foodie who loves exploring new restaurants around town, with sushi being my favorite so far. I also enjoy staying active by running and spending time outdoors with my chihuahua, Ruby. Last year, I completed my second half-marathon and plan to continue participating in races throughout the coming years. I also find great joy in thrifting, as there’s a thrill in discovering unique items.
My goal is to deliver nutrition education that is accessible, impactful, and tailored to your specific needs. I look forward to working with you!
