Alexandra Hajek MS, RDN, LD

Hi, I’m Alexandra—but you can call me Alex!  I’m a Registered Dietitian, licensed to practice in Texas, and currently serve as an outpatient dietitian with JTA Wellness. My professional journey began in clinical nutrition, where I worked in acute care supporting patients of all ages with a variety of medical needs. Now, I’m passionate about partnering with clients in the outpatient setting to guide them toward meaningful, sustainable lifestyle changes that promote long-term health and self-sufficiency.

I was raised in South Texas and later moved to Cisco, TX, where I played collegiate soccer at a junior college—an experience that shaped my discipline and passion for wellness. Eventually, I found a true sense of home in San Marcos, where I completed both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Human Nutrition at Texas State University. My clinical background includes developing individualized nutrition plans for patients managing diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, gastrointestinal disorders, tube feedings, colostomies, and more. I value a collaborative approach to care, working closely with patients and healthcare providers alike to ensure nutrition support is both effective and realistic.

My love for nutrition stems from a deep-rooted appreciation for food and connection. As a child, I helped tend our family vegetable garden and loved baking apple strudel with my loved ones—experiences that made food feel joyful and unifying. When my grandmother was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, I witnessed how food began to feel more like a restriction than a source of joy. That shift sparked a desire in me to help restore the joy and connection that food can bring, while also supporting health. Nutrition became the path where I could combine evidence-based care with heart-led purpose.

Outside of work, I still love spending time in the kitchen and getting my hands dirty in the garden. I’m currently on a mission to perfect my homemade pizza recipe! On weekends, you can usually find me exploring new corners of San Antonio, enjoying local water spots, or trying out new projects and recipes to share with family and friends.
