Kat Garcia-Benson, RDN, CSSD, LD, CPT, NBC-HWC

Hi there! I’m Kat, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Board Certified Specialist in Sports Nutrition, and National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach. I support clients in fueling their bodies, improving their relationship with food, and finding nutrition strategies that actually feel doable in everyday life. With a decade of professional experience, I bring an evidence-based, compassionate approach to nutrition – no extremes, no judgment, just practical tools to help people feel their best.

I specialize in sports nutrition, digestive health, PCOS, and prenatal care. Most of the clients I work with are active individuals looking to improve performance, manage symptoms, or build a healthier relationship with food, without the overwhelm. I’m also a certified Monash FODMAP-trained dietitian, which helps me support those navigating IBS and food sensitivities with a more precise and individualized approach. Whether you’re working toward performance goals, navigating complex symptoms, or trying to break free from the dieting cycle, I offer guidance that’s personalized and built to last. In addition to my clinical and coaching experience, I regularly contribute expert insights to national publications like Health Digest, and have been quoted in outlets such as Healthline, USA Today, EatingWell, Verywell Health, and National Geographic, where I help translate evidence-based nutrition into clear, practical advice for the public.

My passion for nutrition started when I was a young athlete trying to understand how to train harder and recover smarter. Over time, I saw how even well-meaning nutrition advice could lead to perfectionism, burnout, confusion, and disordered eating habits. That realization shaped how I practice today: blending science with real-life coaching to help people build sustainable, supportive habits without the pressure to be perfect.

Outside of work, I’m a parent, a lifelong learner, and someone who will never say no to a cozy pair of socks, a warm cup of tea, and a good podcast. I love group strength and conditioning classes, rucking, and lifting weights – not just for the physical challenge, but for the mental clarity and sense of community they bring. I stay active in the professional community through mentorship and continuing education, and I’m committed to making nutrition more accessible, realistic, and empowering, both in one-on-one work and beyond.
